About
Digital Archive Project

Our Story
The Digital Archive project. Launched in 2022, our mission is to compile and document all Ghanaian LGBT+ related information, spanning from precolonial history to the present day, with the ultimate goal of establishing a comprehensive repository of LGBTQIA+ related issues in Ghana.
Project Description
The primary objective of the project is to create a robust and inclusive resource that caters to the needs of the community, allies, activists, community-based organizations (CBOs), and more. The information gathered through the project serves multiple purposes, including lobbying, advocacy, self-empowerment, education, sensitization, and future reference.

Data Collection Methods
Given the extensive diversity of information sources related to the Ghanaian queer community, this project employs a wide range of data collection methods to ensure the accuracy and informativeness of our findings. We draw from various sources, including LGBT+ organizations, social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, blogs, websites, newspapers, community events, and even events that oppose LGBT+ rights.
Types of Data Collected
The Digital Archive Project has compiled a diverse array of data types, which are organized into comprehensive categories. These categories encompass Academic Publications, Audios, Audiovisuals, Blog Posts, Events, Flyers, Interviews, Literary publications, News, News Clippings, Pictures, Posters, Social media content, and Videos.

Security Measures
Maintaining the security and confidentiality of the collected information is our utmost priority. We have implemented stringent confidentiality protocols and robust security measures. These include two-factor authentication on OneDrive, as well as the latest encryption and access control protocols, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access and manage the project's sensitive information. Your trust and the security of the data we collect are of paramount importance to us.
